Have you ever wondered how the scriptures could ever meet your individual needs?  Be honest.  Nowhere in the standard works does it tell how to potty train a four-year-old or deal with an overbearing boss.  How then can anyone find solutions to everyday problems in the scriptures? Through her book, He Marked the Path: Following the Savior on the Pathway to Peace, author Janine Creager takes us on a personal journey through the scriptures to show how we can be at peace no matter what our trials or circumstances may be. Written in a user-friendly conversational style, He Marked the Path clearly shows that the way to peace is through the Savior. Jesus Christ is the straight and narrow painted line; He is the direction-giving road sign and the safety-enfolding guardrail.  For He is the Way; He is the Truth; He is the Life; And He is the Pathway to Peace.

'Best of Davis County' gifts for readers

from the Davis County Clipper, Bountiful, Utah, by Staff Writer, Jan Hopkins

Thursday, December 2, 2004

The best Christmas gifts may be just a mouse click away, maybe even available next door if you happen to live next to one of the artists featured in the First Annual Best of Davis County Gifts.

This installment features authors in the county who have made their mark in their fields. Criteria for evaluation relied on six factors: 1) flow of language, ease of comprehension, wordsmithing, 2) thorough development of characters and/or topic, 3) quality of illustrations and relevance to the story and/or text, 4) unique perspectives and/or research, 5) over-all layout and ease of use, and 6) cover layout and appeal.

A biography, reveiw of the books and where they are available follow. Enjoy!

He Marked the Path, by Janine S. Creager, 230 pages. Creager is a resident of Farmington.

Creager has taken the frustrations of a fast-paced world and honed a path toward possible peaceful solutions. She's not out to solve the world crises; merely the rumblings of the human condition.

Through practical application of teachings from LDS scripture, Creager takes modern-day problems and fuses them with realistic, ethical solutions.

And, unlike other self-help books, the author does not dictate a path, but instead includes a page of self-reflective questions and ideas so readers can identify areas they are already strong in and others they can work on. It's not a check-off list, but an opening toward personal insight.

Creager's book is available at www.ironrodpress.com.
